    NEWS: The Missouri Review is now accepting entries for the 30th Annual Jeffrey E. Smith Editors’ Prize. Winners in fiction, poetry, and nonfiction receive $5000, publication, promotion on social media, and a TBD virtual event. For a $25 entry fee (which includes a 1-year digital subscription to the magazine, plus the forthcoming digital short story anthology from TMR Books, Strange Encounters), submit your fiction, poetry, or essay for consideration. Or submit at the All Access level of $30, which includes all of the above plus access to the last decade of our digital issues, complete with audio recordings of each issue's features.       The Missouri Review invites submissions year-round in the following categories:

      • Fiction
      • Poetry
      • Nonfiction
      • Fiction, Poetry, or Nonfiction + 4-issue digital subscription

      To submit:

      1. Log in on the left, or if this is your first submission, complete the fields below.
      2. Please make sure to specify your entry correctly in the ”genre” field.
      3. Please put your cover letter in the “comments” field.
      4. Upload your submission as one file in .doc, .docx, .pdf, .rtf, or .txt format.
      5. Once you click “submit”, review your information, and click “continue”, you will be taken to the payment page.
